How to cancel ChatGPT Plus
To cancel ChatGPT Plus, sign in at chatgpt.com, open Settings, select Billing and, under Cancel plan, select Cancel. Paid features stay available until the end of your current billing period. If you pay through Apple or Google Play, cancel there instead.

Cancel ChatGPT Plus on the web
Use this if you subscribed on chatgpt.com.
- Sign in to ChatGPT at chatgpt.com.
- Open your account menu and select Settings.
- Select Billing.
- Under Cancel plan, select Cancel.
Tip: Cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the next period.
Cancel ChatGPT Plus on iPhone or iPad
Only if you subscribed through the Apple App Store.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap ChatGPT.
- Tap Cancel Subscription, then confirm.
Deleting your ChatGPT account does not cancel an Apple subscription — cancel with Apple first.
Cancel ChatGPT Plus on Android
Only if you subscribed through Google Play.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture (top right).
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap ChatGPT.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Make sure you are signed in to the Google account you used to subscribe.
What happens after you cancel ChatGPT Plus
- Paid features remain available until the end of your current billing period.
- Cancelling stops future renewals but does not automatically refund previous charges.
- Uninstalling the ChatGPT app does not cancel your subscription.

Will I get a refund if I cancel ChatGPT Plus?
Not automatically. Cancelling only stops renewals. For web or Google Play purchases you can request a refund through OpenAI Support; for Apple purchases, ask Apple. Eligibility depends on your purchase and location.
Does deleting the ChatGPT app cancel my subscription?
No. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it — cancel through the platform where you bought it.
Does deleting my ChatGPT account cancel Plus?
It cancels a subscription billed directly by ChatGPT, but not one billed through Apple. If you used Google Play, check and cancel it there too.
How do I know who bills me for ChatGPT Plus?
